Come experience a workshop apart.
This is a creative summit and an invitation to get your hands on flowers and build something great. You will grow and expand your creativity along others as you collaboratively design a flower set for a fashion editorial photo shoot. You’ll leave this experience with a new confidence and expanded vision of arranging flowers and styling for the lens. This is a two part workshop where you participate in creating florals with the guidance and knowledge of Katie Wachowiak and Reuben Mark Stewart, and work with Jackie D. Palmer and model Britta to bring your vision and flowers to life.
Learn the skills and communication necessary to bring your artistic voice out through editorial work. This is about making thoughtful images that share a story, a mood and a feeling. It is not a wedding shoot, it is a chance to explore out of the box beauty. We strive to bring you an experience designing out of the ordinary.
The morning is spent creating a floral instillation and unique design elements for the afternoons photo shoot. After lunch students will work with expert model Britta and photographer Jackie Palmer in a photo shoot editorial. This not only gives you amazing images for your portfolio but more importantly gives you the experience and confidence to go create many more.
Is this workshop for me?
This workshop is for creatives of all levels whose interest are in pursuing beauty using flowers and nature as their medium with a specific art direction for the camera.
This workshop is also about learning and gaining from working with a professional photographer and model. Take away practical knowledge not only of hands on collaboration but also grow your own skills and improve your confidence in your photography, with your phone or camera.
Meet the Artists
The one day class takes place on the family flower farm of Katie Wachowiak located in Kawkawlin, MI. Explore the property and get inspired by the stories it holds. The farm has been in the family since 1880. A few fruit trees still exist from the once bountiful orchard. The log farmhouse has been converted to a studio, and although the land and its buildings are aging, many remnants of the past exist.
